What’s On at Madingley this Advent and Christmas – online Christingles/DIY Carols and Open Church /Christmas Services

  • On-line Christingle Service.  Our usual Christingle service is not possible to do safely in person. However, we are working with St Andrew’s Girton to do an online Zoom Christingle for all the family. There are two opportunities to do this: Tuesday 22nd at 4pm and Christmas Eve at 3pm. DIY Christingle Kits (oranges not included) are available for people to collect. Full details are available at http://bit.ly/christingle2020 . Please note that you will need to sign up for this in advance on the website in order to get the service details emailed to you!
  • DIY Carol Service – We cannot enjoy singing our favourite Christmas Carols together as we normally would this year, but we plan to leave the church open, decorated for Christmas and with some high-quality recordings of favourite carols playing during the week beginning 21st December between 10am and 4pm every day. Please come along and spend some time listening (sing along quietly if you like) and reflecting on the Christmas story.  You are invited to write a personal prayer and tie it to the Christmas Tree (labels provided but please bring your own pen).
  • Midnight (in Bethlehem) Mass – The little town of Bethlehem is in a time zone two hours ahead of us. Our “Midnight” Communion will be timed to coincide with Midnight in Bethlehem, so begins at 10pm in order that you can get home at a reasonable hour. (There’ll also be an 11:30pm Midnight Communion in Girton if you prefer.)
  • Christmas Day Service: There will be a family service on Christmas Day at 10am. All welcome!
